A call for artistic creation, specifically for dance composition processes traversed by artificial intelligence.
More than a formal call, this action is a provocation.
A call for collaboration between artists and the Muovere Dance Company.
What is at stake here is a choreographic creation experience provoked by generative artificial intelligence. AI is approached not as a technical tool, but as an instrument of invention, as a kind of algorithmic dramaturgist and movement programmer.
In this process, AI is able to generate deviations, unexpected associations, and poetic layers, allowing us to investigate how digital chance is inscribed in the physicality of the body and the materiality of the scene, expanding the field of dance creation.
The thematic starting point of the action is the repertoire of shows by the Muovere Dance Company and the choreographic poetics of Jussara Miranda.
The proposal is to carry out a kind of reinterpretation of scenes and materials from these works, based on the interaction between humans and artificial intelligence.
Artists and machines are invited to create choreographic sequences and fragments through a continuous dialogue with AI, in a dynamic of prompt, response, and experimentation.
The action proposes, therefore, to treat artificial intelligence as a poetic collaborator in the choreographic creation process, dealing with both its potential and its limitations—all understood as artistic material.
How does it work?
Artists should use the synopses of Muovere Dance Company's shows as a basis for creating choreographic prompts for the AI. Based on the AI's responses—which may come in the form of commands, tasks, mental images, or instructions—each artist develops their own choreography.
The result of this process must be recorded in a 1-3 minute video.
Along with the video, artists must also submit the prompts used and the responses generated by the AI, as part of the creative process material.
From all the works received, three proposals will be selected to receive an incentive as a form of recognition for the artistic work developed.
The selection will take into account the following criteria:
• the quality and consistency of the choreographic research
• the way artificial intelligence is integrated into the creative process
• the clarity of the dialogue between body, AI, and conceptual proposal
• the originality of the artistic approach
• and the coherence between process, result, and submitted material
More than seeking finished results, this action values the process, experimentation, and the willingness to create in dialogue with the machine.
